Silk was born Fredericton at New Brunswick Canada. The daughter of Peter Silk, a professor, as well as Ilkay Silk, a prominent actress as well as a producer, director, writer, teacher, and Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. One of Anna's first memories included going to rehearsals with her mother and watching her do her job. Silk played a role as a young girl in several commercials. She was a graduate of St. Thomas University with the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced two of its first productions, Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk relocated to Toronto to Los Angeles in the decade immediately following 1999. She met her soon-to-be husband, Seth Cooperman, at an Actor's workshop held in Los Angeles, in 2007. They got married at an official ceremony on December 10th, 2009 following their engagement. The couple renewed their vows on April 10, 2011 in Fredericton, after the bride changed her religion to Judaism.
